Joan Miró, one of the geniuses of the Costa Daurada
Born in Barcelona but with a strong bond with Mont-roig del Camp, Joan Miró was captivated by the energy, colours and landscape of this corner of the Costa Daurada, where his creative spirit emerged in a unique and special way. The artist stayed at Mas Miró, the old family home, and let himself be steeped in everything the land gave him. In the same way, Miró ended up capturing in his work what Mont-roig offered him, establishing a relationship of practically artistic symbiosis.

Following in Miró's footsteps through the landscape of Mont-roig del Camp, with its light and colours, is possible on the route 'El paisatge emocional de Miró' (Miró's Emotional Landscape), where you will discover how far the bond between the environment and the artist defines his work. The Centre Miró, located in the town's old church, is part of the Ruta del Paisatge dels Genis (Landscape of the Geniuses Route), where you can also visit other places marked by the works of Antoni Gaudí in Reus, Pau Casals in El Vendrell or Pablo Picasso in Horta de Sant Joan, in the Terres de l'Ebre. Miró also has his own prominent place, in this case in Mont-roig del Camp.
