Journey to l'Infant
Did you know that the French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is linked to L'Hospitalet de l'Infant?
Well, he is! According to the records, on a trip in which he was piloting the plane on the Marseille-Algiers route, the author of The Little Prince was forced to make an emergency landing in the village because of the strong Mistral wind blowing. For this reason, in 1932, Exupéry stayed for two days in L'Hospitalet de l'Infant.
That is why we would like to suggest a very interesting family experience!
"Viatge a l'Infant" (Journey to l'Infant): a family walk along the Jonquet coastal path where participants have to complete a series of challenges related to the values Saint-Exupéry presents in his work "The Little Prince", such as love, friendship and innocence. Participants can pick up a passport at the Cal Forn Tourist Office and have it stamped along the route as they complete the challenges. At the end they must go to the tourist office, where they will receive a wonderful gift.

Route through the Spanish Civil War bunkers
In L'Hospitalet de l'Infant we suggest a route along the fortified remains of the Spanish Civil War at the Coll de Balaguer. During the war, the Republican army heavily fortified the slopes of the Coll de Balaguer, with trenches, machine-gun nests, shelters, powder magazines and more. You can learn about how they were built by the Nationalist prisoners of the L'Hospitalet Labour Camp and about the defence by Republican soldiers of the last line of the fortifications to prevent the Nationalist army from entering through the Coll de Balaguer. It is one of the most important fortified historic sites of this period.
