Looking at the land and the sky, in the Priorat
The Priorat is a region with an extremely rich natural and historical heritage, which invites you to use all five senses on every visit. In a single day you can discover everything from rock paintings to the starriest sky in Catalonia, as well as spectacular landscapes and renowned vineyards and wineries.
In this article we suggest a series of activities that will give you a fairly accurate picture of everything the Priorat stands for.
We recommend starting with one of the lesser-known places of the Priorat, the rock paintings of the Capçanes valleys. The painted ensemble is made up of more than 150 figures.
Next, you can head to Els Guiamets, specifically to its emblematic reservoir, where you can try different nature activities, such as paramotoring or horse and kayak routes.
After a bit of sport, we advise you to recover your strength in the capital of the Priorat, where you can visit the Castell del Falset, a new museum space that offers a historical and cultural discovery of the area in an enjoyable, immersive and interactive way.
Lastly, as night falls, the Priorat offers you the captivating chance to watch the stars at an observatory located at 378 metres above sea level, in the Torre de Fontaubella.
