4. Vineyards, almond trees and olive groves in the Alt Camp
In the Alt Camp, one of the most special routes is the one used by the popular La Pica ride, which every year brings together hundreds of cyclists to pedal along the tracks of the Serra de Miramar, one of the mountains of the Alt Camp comarca. The route starts and ends in the small village of Picamoixons, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, with vineyards, almond trees and olive groves. It passes through the villages of Fontscaldes, Miramar and Masmolets. It is well worth stopping in Masmolets, a small village surrounded by vineyard fields.

Points of interest: If you are in the area, we recommend visiting the Monastery of Santes Creus, part of the renowned Cistercian Route. Valls, the birthplace of the calçotada and of the castellers (human towers), is also close to this route. In Valls, Plaça del Blat, where the Town Hall stands, is a landmark of the castellers of Catalonia.
In the small village of Masmolets we recommend a stop along the way to visit Cal Ganxo, a restaurant in a former 18th-century Mediterranean-style manor house, where from November to April you can enjoy the authentic traditional calçotada with all five senses.
Want to learn a little history? The Iberian kiln of Fontscaldes is located on the Carretera de Montblanc, before the climb to the Coll de Lilla, among vineyards beside the village.
