Lumine is a true golfers' paradise, with 45 holes offering a wide variety of challenges for players of all levels, and its reputation is such that it has been chosen as one of the venues for the second stage of the European Tour Qualifying School for four consecutive years. It is also home to the PGA's prestigious annual four-ball event in Europe and has hosted the 16th edition of the leading golf travel fair, the International Golf Travel Market. Last February, the Nordea Tour held its second winter series at Lumine Golf Club.
Lumine's flagship golf course, the Lakes course, was designed by Greg Norman. Opened in 2008 with Sergio Garcia taking part in the Pro-Am tournament, the fins of the Great White Shark are part of this challenging technical test, which unfolds across the colourful network of water hazards surrounding the wetlands of the Sèquia Major. Lumine's second championship course, the Hills course, is topographically very different from its twin. Designed by the Spanish architect Alfonso Vidaor, this undulating layout winds through picturesque pine woods, olive trees, natural quarries and rocky outcrops, and sets a precedent in terms of shot-making and course management. Those who choose to play this fascinating design will also enjoy incredible views over the Mediterranean Sea. To complete the golf experience at Lumine, there is another course designed by Greg Norman. The Ruins course could comfortably feature in a ranking of the continent's nine best layouts, and its name refers to the Roman ruins that are among the defining features of the layout.
The facilities of Lumine Golf Club include the Golf School and the Pro Shop, and two world-class restaurants: Lumine Restaurant, with creative cuisine by the sea where the dishes offer the most exquisite textures, aromas and flavours, and the Hoyo 19 restaurant, which offers a daily menu in a privileged position. There is also a snack bar, the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif.
The complex meets all the environmental criteria for responsible water management and the conservation of fauna and flora. As a result, Lumine Golf Club was the first course in Spain to receive Audubon International's "Gold Signature Certificate Sanctuary".
