Route description
From the village of Vandellòs you climb up to the Dedalts area, deeper into the mountains, between old fields and grazing land. The whimsical shapes of nature have sculpted the rocks on the way to the Puntaire crag, and among fascinating formations you reach this panoramic summit. After enjoying the spectacular views, you must descend carefully through the Canal del Corb to L'Aigualcoll. From here the route gently levels out towards the sea, which you reach after crossing the whole strip of infrastructure.
After a dip by the sea, a visit to the old hospital of the Infante Pere (son of James II the Just) will immerse you in the history of this important and strategic enclave.

The Vall de Llors, which includes the inland villages of Masriudoms, Masboquera and Vandellòs, just 10 kilometres from L'Hospitalet de l'Infant, is a unique spot on the Costa Daurada offering a different way to enjoy a peaceful holiday in contact with nature. In Vandellòs, the Gothic hospital is an open door to the history of the town. It is a civil building constructed from 1344 to shelter the pilgrims and travellers passing through the Coll de Balaguer. The name of the village, in fact, comes from the welcoming nature of its people. To learn more about the history of L'Hospitalet de l'Infant and the Vall de Llors, we suggest you tour the visitor centre housed there.
L'Hospitalet de l'Infant and the Vall de Llors have several viewpoints that are well worth a visit. Some, like the one on Plaça de la Marina, are ideal for capturing the multicoloured sunsets that caress the Costa Daurada. The Rojala viewpoint is an excellent lookout for incredible views of El Torn beach, a unique natural setting. Oh, and don't forget to slip away to the viewpoint on the road between Masboquera and Masriudoms, from where you can trace the line between the coast and the blue of the Mediterranean. And to round it all off, how about climbing to the Turó del Castell viewpoint? It is at the lower end of Carrer Amunt and has two information boards showing the relief of the mountains and their surroundings.
On the summit of the Serra del Mestral mountains, the hermitage of Sant Roc was built three decades ago in honour of the town's patron saint. Every year a walk is organised from the centre of L'Hospitalet up to the hermitage, from where you can see the Costa Daurada with L'Arenal beach in the background.
