Pedals del Cister
The route starts in Cornudella de Montsant (Priorat), where the briefing takes place and all the equipment you need to ride and enjoy the surroundings is handed out. With a total of 200 km and an ascent of 5,596 m, the Pedals del Cister route is a circular itinerary through the Baix Camp and the Alt Camp, passing through villages such as Mont-ral, La Riba and El Pla de Santa Maria (among others), until you reach Santes Creus (km 79.67), the first village with one of the Cistercian monasteries.
Reaching Vallbona de les Monges (km 126.97) is a long stretch, and with batteries recharged you will resume the route through various villages and comarques such as Montbrió de la Marca, Forès (the highest village in the Tarragonès), Belltall and Rocallaura, already in the province of Lleida.
The last Cistercian monastery, Poblet (km 157), is closer, so the effort is less intense, and you will enjoy a spectacular descending singletrack, reaching large expanses of vineyards and a completely fresh landscape. It will be a good moment to prepare for the final stretch to Cornudella de Montsant, passing through Prades and Albarca, where you will bring this fantastic route to an end.
A route for enjoying landscapes and also great wines, as it runs through four major designations of origin: DO Montsant, DO Tarragona, DO Conca de Barberà and DO Costers del Segre.
All year round, subject to accommodation availability.
