On foot and by mountain bike around the Alt Camp

Discovering a place takes time and attention. The terrain of the Alt Camp lets you choose among several options to enjoy it inch by inch. If you like getting some exercise, the bicycle is the best alternative for not missing a single detail and stopping as often as you like. It also lets you stretch out the route and get into the nooks and crannies. The GR175, the Cistercian Route, is a good option to discover, through the various mountain bike routes offered by the paths of these monastic ways.

More information

You will get another perspective from horseback, a point of view that is certainly different and, at the same time, more restful. Cart rides and horse treks are also organised around the Alt Camp region and along the Cistercian Route, as well as walking routes to get to know every corner, such as 'Un tomb pel Jordà' (A stroll around the Jordà), 'Un Bell Esguard a la Vall del Francolí' (A Fine View over the Francolí Valley), 'Els contrastos de la plana' (The Contrasts of the Plain) or 'Miramar, una balconada oberta a la Costa Daurada' (Miramar, a Balcony Open to the Costa Daurada).

The Alt Camp can be likened to a giant amphitheatre, surrounded by mountain ranges such as the Mussara, the Pou or the Prades on one side, the Ermita or Mirar ranges on the other, and to the north the Ancosa range and the Montmell, among other high points. In this exceptional setting, hiking plays a major role, as do climbing and via ferratas and, sometimes getting wet, canyoning or caving. Two important hubs for these activities are Figuerola del Camp and Mont-ral.

We recommend contacting the experts at the companies that run these activities so they can guide you through the best places. Whichever discipline you choose to get closer to the corners that the walls of these ranges offer, enjoy every inch and every change in elevation and, of course, with maximum respect and minimum impact!
