The most emblematic feature is the Mèdol Needle, a column about 16 metres high that marks the original level of the rock before quarrying began. The Quarry is managed by the Tarragona History Museum and is part of the archaeological ensemble of Roman Tarraco, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.
