The Pont del Diable, part of a World Heritage archaeological site

Tarragona is a UNESCO World Heritage city. Its archaeological ensemble of ancient Tarraco, which includes the legendary Pont del Diable, is of extraordinary beauty and richness. It lets us understand how our societies have evolved up to the present day.

It is, therefore, an ideal city for telling our history. The Tarraco Viva festival, usually held around May, is a unique opportunity to travel back in time up to 2,000 years, with faithful historical reconstructions and various educational events.

Paths that connect us

Since its origins, Tarragona has been stitched to its nearest surroundings by paths. The network of paths of Tarragona is very diverse, with old cart tracks, bridle paths, footpaths and other more recent routes.

These paths are also a fantastic place to reconnect with nature, discover old farmhouses and enjoy the tranquillity found in the city, beside the sea. There are up to 75 km of waymarked paths.

Up and down the Rambla

The Rambla Nova, whose construction began in 1854, has for many decades been the favourite place for a stroll for the people of Tarragona.

It is a long, wide avenue that is great for a relaxed, pleasant walk, taking in the Castellers monument, the Font del Centenari, the Monument to the Heroes of 1811, the Teatre Metropol, numerous Modernista buildings, the monument to Roger de Llúria and, finally, as an unbeatable finale, the Balcó del Mediterrani (Mediterranean Balcony), with unique views over the Mediterranean.
