The Iberian Citadel is the name given to the site of the Iberian settlement that thrived in Calafell between the 4th century BC and the 1st century BC. At that time the settlement, which lived from farming and hunting, stood on a hill surrounded by ponds and marshes that helped it control the territory. In 1992, after 10 years of excavations, the site was reconstructed in situ using the same techniques and materials, and the interiors were recreated with replicas of recovered objects so that visitors can understand how these pre-Roman settlements lived in Catalonia. Dramatised tours and workshops are held here. The site belongs to the Calafell Castle Foundation.
