Interact with the animals at Granja Neri in El Catllar
The Granja-Escola Corral de Neri in El Catllar is an old 18th-century sheepfold that has now become a space to encourage children's direct contact with farm animals, farming and livestock techniques, and an understanding of the natural environment and environmental education.
During the visits you can interact with the animals and discover what life was like on the farm, while also playing in the various leisure areas, which include a maze, a zip line and a playground...
Route from Castell del Catllar to Sant Simplici
Landscape and culture blend in this circular route that starts at Castell del Catllar and goes as far as the old Sant Simplici watchtower, two extraordinary viewpoints over the Camp de Tarragona. The route, about 11 km long and waymarked with lilac-coloured signs, can be done on foot or by bike.
Have a great family time at the Torre d'en Guiu
The Torre d'en Guiu was once a circular defensive tower belonging to the Gaià defensive line. Although the 11th-century structure has disappeared, today it gives its name to a municipal leisure area that is perfect for a great family outing.
There you will find swimming pools to cool off and have fun in, a restaurant, several tennis courts for sport and a wooded area with a children's playground.
The El Catllar reservoir: a hike or mountain bike ride
El Catllar is a municipality surrounded by natural and scenic places of interest. For example, when you visit you can head to the El Catllar reservoir, a reservoir next to the municipalities of Renau and Vespella de Gaià. You can also take a hike or mountain bike ride that will also take you to La Plana, where a small pond forms at certain times of the year, and to Mas Pasqual, along paths lined with dry-stone walls and through dry-farmed crops.
