Caius and Faustina were the owners of the aristocratic villa of Els Munts, one of the best-preserved in Roman Hispania.
Through their explanations, as they lead the guided tour, you will discover how this couple lived in Roman times, in a house that allowed them to enjoy the peace of rural life beside the beach, without giving up luxury and refinement.
As good hosts, at the end of the tour they will invite you to an aperitif, just as the political, economic and social elites of Tarraco did centuries ago.

Enjoy the fine, golden sandy beaches
One of the main attractions of Altafulla is its fine, golden sandy beaches, an excellent place to enjoy the Mediterranean climate. Besides Altafulla beach, around 1,100 metres long and awarded the Blue Flag quality mark every year, you can also head to Platja del Canyadell.
Platja del Canyadell is the perfect spot if you are looking for peace and quiet in a unique, small space. It is a little cove sheltered by the Roquer de Torredembarra, and it has been named a "virgin beach" by the Grup Ecologista de Tarragona i l'Ebre d'Ecologistes en Acció de Catalunya.

Would you like to get to know a privileged natural setting, recognised for its wealth of wildlife? The mouth of the River Gaià is part of the network of wetlands of southern Catalonia, and since 1992 it has been included in the Plan for Areas of Natural Interest.
You will be able to see the large number of small birds that live there, as well as mammals such as voles, rabbits and squirrels, and, less frequently, foxes, badgers, weasels and beech martens. Without a doubt, it is a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature.
From Botigues de Mar to the Torredembarra lighthouse
Going from Botigues de Mar, past Els Munts and Platja del Canyadell, you reach the Torredembarra lighthouse, the last one built in Spain. It can be visited by prior booking.
